Linux burnt cd doesn't autorun in windows

I have been having burning a cd in linux. The actual burnning goes just fine, my problem is that I want to have the cd autorun when put into a windows box. I put the autorun.inf onto the cd and set it up properly (like I have done many times in windows). But when I burn the cd and insert it in windows ... it doesn't autoplay, and it doesn't have the ablility to. How can I burn a cd in linux that will autorun in windows? Does autorun.inf have to be the first file in the root directory? Is there something like a boot sector that needs to be set?

Thanks for the help,

Maybe you could try loading a windows autoplay program under wine and see if that will work, you may be able to generate the files needed for a autoplay cd.

Itīs been years since i played with autoplay for windows, might work.
