Angry linux boot! why won't you!

I've installed linux about 50 times on my new hard disk!! and the installation and configuration goes fine but when it asks me 2 eject the install CD and to reboot when it get's 2 booting from the HD it tells me that i need 2 insert a system disk. so i tried all the different ways that mandrake 9.1 offers to install the boot program and non of them worked. except the floppy disk solution that when i booted from floppy it justed showed me 01 repeated lot's of times and then told me to press any key 2 reboot!!
How can i get it to boot!!!????

where are you installing your boot loader ? It needs to be installed to the MBR.
I've had some real headaches in the past with boot disks made during the installation process. Best to make one after you get a working system, and when you do make sure the floppy disk is in pristine condition. I hope this does the trick for you.
