I know I'd have a system of say, Linux/GNU, and give all of the commands needed to preform these task on that same said system to find out the answers to these questions.
1. man chmod, permissions.
2. reboot the system, or turn off the computer, that would definitely kill every process running.
3. that last one is definitely a google question just like it is written.
