Hi thr ,
I am a newbie to Linux .. I searched for Linux API for function defnitions and header file defnitions that are available for linux programming ... but in vain.So anybody out thr to help me ....

Those are included in each Linux distribution that I know. They are the man pages! Try and find a program named "xman". It will help you read the man pages. Else I think you can view them with Konqueror, but I don't know how.

but can i view the member defntions within structures .. say .. pci_dev struct tht exist in pci.h i suppose

If you have the development (header) packages installed, you should be able to get all the info you need from the man pages.
