Linksys Wireless card won't connect to wireless network

Hello,
I have have Ubuntu 7.10, and I just installed it, and am relatively new to linux (I've used it before, but I forgot everything).

Well, when I try to connect to my wireless network, I click on the monitor with the exclamation point at the top next to the clock, to see if I can see my wireless network. Well, I can't, nor can I see any other wireless network within its range. (I know there are some, my mac can connect to them fine.)

When I try to manually connect to it, it fails as if it doesn't see the network at all.

Help?

It's hard to tell from your description, but are you sure your wireless card (could you give the exact model?) is supported at all? If you can't find any networks it's (at least) not configured right. Or may use the wrong driver.

Using your package manager, do a search on "Linksys".

Also, a Google seardch using "Linksys wireless linux" gives lots of hits.

I used synaptic, I suppose I guess I had the wrong driver. Thanks for the help .
