Linking files for ftp users to download
When I link files to user's home folders from my home folder so they can then access these files and copy content in them to their desktop's via ftp it gives them an error message saying just that it cannot copy the files. Is there a way to set up permissions or change something in my vsftpd.conf file to make this possible or is this just what happens when you link files instead of just straight copy them?

Do the symlinks link to files outside of the ftp root?

Yes they do.

You'll want to edit the permissions on the original files. Maybe to +r for the users.

It's funny ive turned on almost all permissions and when i try to copy and paste a file I get an error, however when i try to copy and paste the entire linked folder i am allowed to. However, this would be a waste of time since my folders are so big.

So it works when you try download the entire directory?
