Red face Link was Added to Launcher

Dell 2400 Dimension 2GB ram OS Ubuntu 12.04

I foolishly clicked on a link which them parked itself in Launcher.

I have unlock it from Launcher.

Will the Link still be somewhere in my PC? If so how do I remove it?

Linux-questions will not let me show the link.

Which I did show the link in earlier post which never came onto Linux-questions site

How do I show the link that I followed? Or should I not do this?

When I following the link on the internet British Telecom (My ISP) said "Sorry could find Link"

any advice please.

Unlocking something from the launcher will have not have any consequences other than removing it from the launcher.

What site? What link? What is BT? (British Telecom??? If so what's that got to do with your problem?) I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe you should clarify what you're trying to say.

It's the word "link" that's confusing me. Are you concerned about removing the link? or the object that is being linked to? Is the link in question to a url? or a link to a program somewhere on your machine? It almost sounds like you are talking about a bookmark -- a clickable url that is typically underlined and in a different font colour that opens a browser to the web address in question. I didn't know you could put those kind of links in Ubuntu's launcher.

You show a link by clicking on the small icon above the composing window (where I am typing this message now) that is a picture of a globe with one link of a chain underneath it. You click on that icon and supply the text you want to appear in your post and the url of the site you're linking to. Here is an example of that kind of link. The text is "Here" and it is linked to linuxquestions.org. I hope this clears thing up a bit for you.

Yes you are correct the word link I meant was a url which was all underlined and blue in colour and went to my browser and tried to open it. This did not happen British Telecom said Sorry could not find it.

My question is - is it still somewhere in my computer?

But thank you for your trouble and helping me jdkaye.

Launcher is a set Icons/symbols on Left hand side of Ubuntu/Linux OS
like short cuts to programes/browser etc.

You can set up your homepage in your browser from tools (3 horizontal bars top Right hand side) in Firefox.

hope this helps you.

No, I would not worry about the link to a url. If it's not a bookmark on your browser then I don't see where it could be. If it is a bookmark on your browser then you can delete it if you don't want it around. Since I also use BT as my ISP I'm curious about this mysterious link. They must like you more since they never send me anything; no links nor anything else.
