Linix in a Library / public information enviroment

Hi,
I'm a sort-of newbe to linix, but I have had a chance to play with a Kubuntu distro, even though I normall crash the display conf file. but that's not my question. I want to know if there is a distro of linux that is suited to a library or public information?
E.G. is there a distro that acts like a public library system with a client that is restricted to fundamentals, and a server that handles time and bookings similar to the icam system I'm currently using. icam (insight-icam com)

I want to change our current system that uses a 'booking' PC that handles all the bookings, time, payment, restriction policys and printing, and the clients that allow public access.

Is there such a system or a distro that closly matchs with a few tweaks needed?

Thanks

Have a look at this: http://open-ils.org/about.php. It's an open-source library management system, but I don't know if it does all you want. You may need other software to complete your objective.

Try a search on sourceforge.net or freshmeat.net. This seems to produce a lot of result using, for example, internet + cafe or public + internet + access as search terms. I guess this is the type of system you are after
