What have you done exactly?

The line 6 ux2 should work in a number of distro's if you have connected it usb. I have that and generally have to select the correct audio device in settings. Not sure if I have tested ubuntu but you should be able to update it if it doesn't have it.

When you do a lsusb command, what does it report for usb connections?

There is a way to check what drivers are loaded in kernel. I get the feeling ux2 is supported on that kernel.

I think I know a way to get toneport or gearbox running on linux. Tried it a long time ago and had problems because I didn't know how to get past linemonkey.

I think this is the kernel info. http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/LINE6_USB.html

Might use commands lsmod and modprobe.

You can search for your kernel. I'd assume it is posted someplace exactly all the drivers that have been added to it. Gets a bit long and you may have to poke around between usb or audio in that list.

What have you tried to use for installing?

I know a Debian 8.x will see the ux2 so you can try that on your system with a live usb and get info from that.

You never said if it is usb attached. I don't see a usb entry. Maybe I can remember to test this tomorrow.
