Exclamation Limpus lite -Acer Aspire - no longer recognises flash drive!

My second question, being greedy here! I have a new Flash drive 16Gb Cruzer with U3 and was initially able to see this when plugged in to my new Acer aspire even though I know the U3 utility isn't supported in Linux I can still use it as a memory stick.
Now for some unknown reason I can't see the drive or files at all! It's fine in all other pc's and laptops.
Anyone know how I can search for it, re-mount it?, find it at all via linus system (it's lit up but not seen) when plugged in. Or why this may have happened? I don't know any linux commands or where to find a 'my computer' equivalent to search for it... help! I may have done something re installing yum (experiment!)and now can't see Flash drive at all.

Plug your usb drive, open a terminal (located in FILE menu or alt+F2 then type "xterm"), type "fdisk -l" and post the output of that command.

Open a terminal and type tail -f /var/log/messages and THEN plug in the USB drive, you should see Linux detect the drive being plugged in and assigning it a device ID (i.e. /dev/sdb1 )

With the USB Flash Drive plugged in, open a terminal type lsusb That will show you if the system can see the drive plugged into the USB port.
