limiting the size of each directory

the programmer wants to write a script, with this script users will create a directory on the linux server when they post a message using a form.

So, he wants me to put quota on each directory which is created by this script for each user.

For example, 200 user and each of them need to use only 0.1 MB space on disc for each directory.

Could you please give me an idea how I can limit the size of each directory?

Never tried it but you sounds interesting. As far as I know you can put quota's on a partition basis, not individual folders but as I said never tried it so I wouldn't stand up and court and say that.

If each user is only allowed one folder then I guess you could just limit them to 0.1mb on whatever partition they are created but if they are allowed multiple...hmmm.
