limite the file name lenght on samba share

Hi I have a samba server which running file share against AD domain. All the shares are ok and working fine.

My problem is how to limit the filename length. The users make long filenames when they save files on this samba share,

Can I restrict the size of the file name?

I would send a note to all of the users asking them to limit the length of their file names.

We did sent a mail as such but you know the users simply wont. They don’t have to put any thing in the file their file name has what need to said in the file.

Can we put a rule or is there a samba parameter which can do this.
