Limit console results

I know this is a stupid ?, but I can't seem to dig it up anywhere,

-How do I limit the reuslts of a command, say ls, to only display what will fit in the console and allow me to say pagedown in the results or space to get the next group of results that fits in the console window.

ls | more

This'll display one screenful at a time, press return to move to the next lot.

not kidding here, but you may also have "less" installed.

In my opinion, less is more. err.... I mean better.
