I have LimeWire installed on Fedora Core 2 with the latest version of Java installed. LimeWire is located in "/usr/lib/limewire" and java is located in "/usr/java/jre1.5.0_06". When I open LimeWire, my computer completely freezes and I have to restart the computer. This does not happen all the time though. Sometimes the application opens fine but more than half the time it will freeze right after it has loaded. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both java and limewire but the problem comes back. I would really prefer to get this application running rather than give up and use a different filesharing program. Any solutions?
(I apologize if this was the wrong place to post this thread because I am fairly new to linux but this also being a software issue. I wasnt quite sure where to post this)

I forgot to mention that I have LimeWire version 4.10.9 if that helps any. I'm not sure if that is the same bug as 4.11 beta...what if I downgraded? are there more stable versions?
Okay, I have searched the internet and haven't been able to find 4.8 or an earlier version to download. I couldn't find any archived files from the LimeWire site either. Anyone have a link where I can download older versions?
Also, I tried other P2P programs with no success. I have tried gtk-gnutella but I had too many problems getting that one installed. So then I tried Nicotine - It seemed to be the best but I couldn't find a way to make it display your downloaded files (you had to go to the directory you downloaded them to each time to play something). So then I tried apollon - it has a good GUI but I never could get any search results when I searched for something. Then I tried giFTcurs but it says that there is not a SINGLE user connected. I tried searching with it anyways and I got the same thing I got from apollon - no search results.
I'm really getting frustrated with LimeWire freezing so much...I really dread the idea of having to use a windows system soley for the purpose of having a stable P2P program....

But seriously, i have Mandrake 10.1. gtk-gnutella worked fine at first, but then i messed with some settings in the program, which i forgot, and now it won't load.
