LILO or Grub or ????

is there a way to change to the grub boot loader if you've already selected LILO as your boot loader? LILO is so freakin' ugly to look at! also, are there any other boot loaders out there? LILO & Grub are all i've heard of, but i'm still a newbie, just recently hatched, and i'm looking for my way around....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lilo can also be graphical. But it's just a boot loader, so pretty doesn't mean much to you... I use lilo, but not very much - ie I hardly ever boot up the machine as it runs non stop.

But you have to use lilo or grub somewhere along the line to boot linux.

i use redhat 8. and yes, i know, it's a little picky to care what my boot loader looks like. but i like it to look nice. it looks like i'm booting up a nintendo 16 bit system when i see LILO. grub is not much better, but it at least doesn't look so pixelated.

Might be a distro thing... The lilo with mandrake looks pretty cool to me... There might be ways of dressing up the lilo (or grub) screens. I've never really looked.

Xosl is a graphical boot loader.
You can find it at:
