lilo Gui

I have a redhat9 installed with windows 2000 I use lilo as a boot manager it was working fine uptill yesterday
Yesterday I was installing yum and crossover office everything was fine then I shutdown the PC
today when I tried booting my PC the GUI of lilo where I can choose the booting system dissapeared all I found was text then it goes directly to boot.ini of windows
after a while I managed to choose linux by typing the command (linux)
How can I restore the GUI ?
also How can I recreate a boot disc mine is not working

I don't how the installation of crossover office has disturbed your lilo but you can try
this to get your lilo in original form.

run lilo at bash prompt by simply writing

lilo -R

this will read your /etc/lilo.conf file and setup lilo as default bootloader according to configuration in lilo.conf.

if your /etc/lilo.conf is not disturbed then you will get your previous configuration with background bitmap back.
If u don't then you need to edit lilo.conf to have background bitmap.
and for that consult

man lilo
man lilo.conf
info lilo

I am convinced with what you say
I see no relation between what I was doing and what I have experienced
anyway I have upgraded lilo to the newest vesion and that solved the problem
I need an advice creating a boot disk

for redhat the command to make bootdisk is

mkbootdisk

and pass the kernel image to boot as argumet to mkbootdisk.

this will make disk in /dev/fd0 drive as bootdisk which will use the rootfile system as specified by entry in /etc/fsatb
