LILO gone, need it back!! NO JOKE

My setup is on a 60 gig hard drive. The first half was WinXP and the other was my Mandrake partitions. I formatted the first partition and installed Windows 2000. My MBR has been overwritten with windows bootloader.

when I did a freah install of XP my bootloader stayed the same, but know that i have gone back to win2000, it is gone.

I have tried using the Mandrake disk to go into a rescue mode. It asks to reinstall the boot loader and it appears to run lilo, but that does not do it.

I have a tomsrtbt disc but do not know how to use it to rerun lilo.

Please help.

You could also do the same thing with your Mandrake install disc. Boot from it, and when you're presented with the first screen, press <F1> and then type rescue. It'll load up a menu. Select 'mount partitions under /mnt', then select 'Goto console'. Once there, type chroot /mnt and then type /sbin/lilo. Then you can type reboot and keep your fingers crossed. Don't forget to remove the install disc.
