LILO , booting , and KDE questions + login screen

1.How do I change the time that Lilo waits before auto selecting an OS and booting it?

2. After selecting an OS , it says: invalid video mode number entered , press ENTER to see aivable video modes or SPACE to continue. I allways press Space , how can I have the PC do that for me? I dont want this message anymore , I have an 800X600 screen (15 insh)

3. How can I change my mouse from normall PS2 mouse to PS2 wheel mouse OR Where can I find hardware configuration in KDE?

EDIT:
4. When I logout as root , it returns me to the command line. I want it to return me to the login screen so I can pick another user...

I searched help , but didnt found it. I have Slackware 10 BTW. Thanks in advance!

1) edit the /etc/lilo.conf file. There's a line for it in there. Be sure to run lilo after you edit it!

No execute /sbin/lilo. In the command line:
Quote:

/sbin/lilo
It should give you some info on images added.

everytime u change someting in /etc/lilo.conf , u have to run "lilo" as root.

2) look for a line vga= something
comment that line and run lilo

3) http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/...al,_PS/2,_USB)

4) use a display manager like "kdm"
what runlevel are u in slackware ?

I dont know , how do I find that out? Thanks for the awnsers BTW!

The file /etc/inittab ... the part where it says id:3:initdefault: change the 3 to a 4. The file is heavily commented, so it's easy to figure out.
