Question Lilo and Grub

Can you switch boot loaders after install from lilo to grub? And can you switch the order of hard drives? I have 8.0 on one drive and win2000 pro on the other. I want to use grub and have it come up and tell me if I want to boot to linux or windows is that possible.

Question

Sorry about the confusion, sometimes it's easy to ramble. On the install when you choose which boot loader to use in rh8.0 they give you an option to switch orders of the drives in advance settings. That's where I'm talking about. On install. How do you switch boot loaders after you are up and running?

Im not entirely 100% sure with readhad seeing how i use mandrake. On my old skewl RH4.2 distro youd have to reinstall the boot loader, look for the source, compile and install and run its stuffs.

As for the order you mean by the order of the list shown on the boot loader, you can find that information in /etc/lilo.conf, you can move around stuff in there and then run 'lilo' from root and itll update your bootloader config. not sure how to do it with grub.

If you use your install cd #1 and choose to "upgrade" your install. you'll get along to an area where it askes you to deal with the boot loader. There's three options, out of these three you can choose to change the boot loader. And there ya go
