lighttpd proxy configuration

Hi experts
I'm back on LQ because I always find good answers here. My question is about lighttpd and mod_proxy. Lighttpd forum do not accept registration because of capcha issues.

my website is working well with default lighttp config.

I would like to control few internal devices through their web gui.

I would like to add a directory like http://localhost/device1
I tried to add a proxy config.
$HTTP["host"] =~ "localhost" {
proxy.server = ( "" => (( "host" => "", "port" => 80 )))
work well, but will completely overwrite my site.

$HTTP["url"] =~ "/device1" {
proxy.server = ( "" => (( "host" => "device1", "port" => 80 )))
give me "no page found", answer coming from device1 ( probably because path "device1" does not exists on device1.
I tried to rewrite url before to pass to proxy. didn't work

I'm wondering if is possible and if someone have an example or can point me to good direction.
Thank you
