Question LICQ, Gnomeicu Direct Connectiong HELP!

I have Mandrake Linux 8.1 installed and logged in
under Gnome.

I try setting up LICQ or Gnomeicu, it works fine exept I can't send chat request and the other party can't establish direct connection with me...
I think this is a firewall problem, I have dissabled the firewall in gnome but I think there is still a firewall...
I have a Win98 machine hooked up to this unix machine and it has the internet running fine... althought I can ping the win98 machine from linux but can't ping the linux from win98...
I have been looking for an answer to this for a week... If anyone can tell me not only what is wrong but how to fix it...

Please send a copy by e-mail...
