libxml2

From where can I get libxml2 version 2.2.5
I am trying to install something and its is giving error

"configure: error: libxml2 version 1.8.17 is too old. You need at least 2.2.5"

I am running redhat 9 on i686

I have searched on rpmfind.net
http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...&system=&arch=

but I don't know that which one of these pacakges I should download ?

and what is this "Stuff on Rufus.W3.Org"?

Thanks

there is a rh9 rpm on the site you linked to, but it will not help you unless you can find the corresponding -devel package. check your install cd's and see if you have a libxml2-devel package on there. you probably already have the library part on your system, do ( in a console):

rpm -qa libxml

and see if libxml2 is listed. if it is you just need the -devel package.

I did and It says

Code:
[root@localhost gateway-1.2.1]# rpm -qa libxml
libxml-1.8.17-8
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root
So I guess I have the older version but I need atleast the version 2.2.5?

and I can't find the libxml2 devel package anywhere in the "Add or remove Packages" ?

Well, there was an rpm on that site you linked, but I didn't see the -devel package that you will need to compile against that library. You can do some more googling for the packages ( remember, you'll need both libxml-2.x and libxml-2.x-devel) or compile it from source. Really, both packages should be on your install cd's.
