I got this email over and over again on RedHat

libvir: Remote error : unable to connect to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock': No such file or directory
This was fixed by rebooting server, that idea came from this server via a search for libvir: Remote error
The system was doing what it was supposed to do, notify you in the event something wasn't working as expected. You could modify the script or program that does the notification to check and see how recently it last notified you, but that's about it.
I have the same problem. The message is sent every 2 minutes. I removed the package, "rhn-virtualization-host", but it didn't stop, also after rebooting the system.
The file the CRON indidates, "/usr/share/rhn/virtualization/poller.pl", doesn't even exist anymore...
Same symptoms here. I found that there is a libvirtd in /etc/init.d and rather than reboot the server I simply issued the command
"service libvirtd restart". The daemon restarted, libvirt-sock was created in /var/run/libvirt, and the two minute mail
to root stopped.
