Hello

Can someone guide me about downloading libtk8.4.so? I have an old fedora machine which has libtk8.3.so and need the libtk8.4.so in order to install a software that requires this specific version.

What version of fedora are you running? The newest version of Fedora should have it. Run the following at the command line, as root:

you are aware that fedora only supports any one version for 13 months
right now that is fedora 14 and 15
fedora 14 is about to hit EOL what 16 comes out soon

If you are going to use fedora please stay current

I see from your other posts you have fedora 6 installed
you are about to be 10 TEN versions out of date
fedora 7 updates have that 8.4 version
It is in the historical archives

INSTALL fedora 15 or 16
you ARE 10 versions out of date

but if you are running 6 a 7 rpm might not work

This particular machine has Fedora 6. Thanks much. I got the library from http://rpm.pbone.net and installed libtk8.4.so. When I run the ./installer from the software I am trying to load, it still complains "error while loading shared libraries: libtk8.4.so" while I clearly see it in the /usr/lib. I am completely out of luck here.

I suppose its time to update.
