Libreoffice extremely slow

Hi,

I'm using Libreoffice 7.0.4.2 and it's painfully slow compared to previous releases. The response lag is a real issue particularly with Draw & Impress.

I'm on sparky linux (=debian rolling).

Any suggestions how to solve this?.

Thanks

To give you a reference to compare, I'm on arch, I updated yesterday, 7.0.5.2, and I timed LO opening, ready to use, it was 9 seconds.

And this machine is
Code:
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep 'model name'
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz

free
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 3917712 255196 366784 108208 3295732 3297552
Swap: 0 0 0
So, not a fire breather.

Let me see, I have not had draw open yet.
Code:
sudo sysctl vm.drop_caches=3
lodraw
Took about 13 seconds for it to be ready.

Thanks.

The main issues are not with the start-up times but when operating the software, e.g. in Draw dragging around graphics has a huge lag.

What kind of video hardware do you have? Does downgrading the kernel help?
Code:
lspci -k
uname -a
Do you have java installed with that? Do you gets lags in other software?
You are going to have to troubleshoot it.
