Question Libre Office was unable to find a working email configuration?

I've just finished installing Ubuntu 11.10 (clean install)and I am now configuring the Libre Office 3.4. I've hit a brick wall with the "Option" to mail merge and keep getting the above message. Has anyone had success in merging Libre Office with gmail, and if you have could you please tell me how you did it. Thanks.
I am using Google Chrome as my browser.
