I have a LG CD-ROM that is incompatible w/ Mandrake. Does the damage occur when writing a Linux download or when running a written CD? I ask because I have purchased Discovery 9.2 with CD's ready to install.
Distribution: PCLinuxOS 0.93 and 0.92, Vector sometimes

Make sure your cdrom is on the list. If so, follow the link and update the firmware. Then you should have no problems.
