Lexmark Z32 Driver for Fedora Core 5?

I'm looking for help locating a print driver to use with my Lexmark Z32 printer.

I just finished installing Fedora Core 5 on my H-P Pavilion 6835 PC and I'm looking to add drivers for my peripherals.

I need to locate drivers for my scanner, printer, and other items. Where should I start?

You're in luck (maybe). It looks like your model is partially supported by a free driver--a relative rarity for Lexmark.

Even more, Lexmark itself apparently supplies a driver for it, though it looks like there might be some difficulty getting it working, as explained above.

As for other hardware, your might start with the LinuxQuestions HCL. I already gave you a link to linuxprinting.org, and for scanners, check the SANE page. Your distro of choice should also have a hardware compatibility page somewhere.

Finally, be aware that there are at least two proprietary driver companies out there. Turboprint offers support for some Canon, Epson and Brother printers (no Lexmark though), and VueScan suppports a host of scanners. There may be more I don't know about.

Hi,

Thank you for the information. I found a file at this location that I was missing. I'll have to see if it works.

Thank you!

Hi,

I have learned that you the partial solution is the correct one and it was the default for my printer selector.

The limitation is that I can only print one page at a time and I have to clear an error that occurs at the end of each page. This is a bit tedious, but I'll have to live with it. I don't have sufficient funds for a new one at this time and I have an old laser printer I picked up for a song on another machine.
