Lexmark x2250 in Linux

Hi,
I've been using linux off and on for about 2 years, but finally decided to completely switch over. I'm running slackware 10, and everything is going great, with the exception of my printer- a Lexmark X2250.
I've checked google, and linuxprinting.org, and I could find no drivers available for this printer.
So my question to you is - is there anything else I can try to get this working? I'm by no means looking for a "do this for me" answer, but I've kind of hit a wall. Are there other drivers I could try, or some method I could use for now which would be feature limited, or whatever is necessary?

If all else fails, I might just have to run windows in vmware to print, or go buy a cheap printerserver {which isnt a half bad idea, since I have 2 computers... but i just dont see why a printeserver should do what linux already does well :-) }

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

A number of sites, including the HCL here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...p?product=1669
suggest that your printer is supported, but I couldn't find a driver anywhere either.

I suppose you could try a driver for a similar model, although logic tells me it isn't going to work for you.

Here is the driver for the 2050 :
http://www.prato.linux.it/~mnencia/lexmark2050/
and the 2070

Worth a shot eh?

Is this printer quite new? Because if so you may need to wait a bit till someone writes a driver for it.

I believe i may have tried them once, but I will continue to try.

I'm gonna try contacting lexmark also, just in case. Never know!
