Learning the World of Linux & Programming

Hi Everyone,

I am soooo new to this field of work, I just changed careers to be a Support Analyst for a small IT company. Can you recommend any books or learning sites? I am also new to the whole world of programming...so this makes it even harder for me.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jason

You don't need to be a programmer to use Linux. Good learning sites are:
http://tldp.org/
http://www.howtoforge.com/

And seeing that you use Ubuntu: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/

If you want to learn GNU/Linux, you can always just install Slackware on your computer. The learning curve is quite steep compared to other Linux distributions.

The web has lots of information, but none beat practical information.
