Learning Linux
hi Linux users/developers..
im a newbie in here so i want to know & learn about shell, kernel & Linux programming and which is best OS to start with. |
There is no best OS when it comes to linux. I always use the car analogy, think of each different distro as a different make of automobile, some people like one over the other but they all get you from point a to point b basically the same way.
A book that I swear by is http://www.linuxcommand.org/tlcl.php and its a free PDF download, written by the creator of Gentoo. Some other good resources are the The Linux Documenetation Project, www.tldp.org and communities such as this to get you started. If you want some more direct suggestions on a specific topic, like bash scripting or something of the like just let us know. Best of luck. |
