One of the first things of learning is to learn to search for information. At LQ we have a feature called "Similar Threads" which you will find at the bottom of the thread you just created. It is populated with entries similar to your thread title. Another feature is the search function which should return about 430 threads.

here's some Bash scripting guides:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Bash-Prog-Intro-HOWTO.html
http://www.tldp.org/LDP/Bash-Beginne...tml/index.html
http://www.gnu.org/software/bash/man...ode/index.html
http://www.grymoire.com/Unix/Sh.html
http://www.tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/
http://mywiki.wooledge.org/BashFAQ
http://mywiki.wooledge.org/BashPitfalls

...and if you're new to Linux you may also want some Linux basics help. Telengard posted a link collection here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...nd-line-32893/
