Leach routing protocol

Hello
I've searched for a number of references, but haven't found the best solution.
In the Leach routing protocol, CH is chosen based on a random value that is lower than the threshold value. If none of the nodes fulfill the requirement, then the node will send data directly to the base station, this makes the use of energy very high in the delivery process.
Are there other alternatives when a cluster is not formed in the routing protocol leach?

Welcome to LQ.

Assume ns2 : "Cluster" is included in a stock ns2. No modifications required.
Please have a look at the "cluster simulation examples" clustering-examples-07.19.tar.gz
