ldapsearch:: how to use TLS connection?

Hi,

I have to extract some infomation from ldap server. All the hosts use ldap security certificate and we have TLS enabled.
Now from one of those host I am trying to make a connection to ldap server to start initial search, later I want to make this search more specific.

I Played around with those commands.

Code:
[root@lx1 ~]# ldapsearch -h lxildap -I cn=server_lx1 objectclass=*

ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Confidentiality required (13)
additional info: This server requires a TLS connection

[root@lx1 ~]# ldapsearch -h lxildap -I cn=server_lx1 objectclass=*
ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Confidentiality required (13)
additional info: This server requires a TLS connection

[root@lx1 ~]# ldapsearch -h lxildap -Z cn=server_lx1 objectclass=*
ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Unknown authentication method (-6)
additional info: SASL(-4): no mechanism available: No worthy mechs found

[root@lx1 ~]#
Please help.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Looks like ldapsearch is still attempting to use SASL auth, try '-x' to force simple auth

You may need '-D' ( bind DN ) and '-W' ( prompt for bind password ) also

cheers
