Hi rduncan and welcome to LQ!
You can create a desktop shortcut to run the application. In defining what the shortcut does you can tell it to reference the path for Hercules.
From the command line you can learn where the path to Hercules is by typing "which hercules[tab]" where the [tab] should complete if there is any special added parts to the command name for that program. (I don't know, I haven't run hercules, however in running transmission, I know that it really would be transmission-gtk on my system as an example). This will tell you the path to run hercules which you can set in your newly created shortcut.
I would recommend that you search for instructions from Fedora how to create a desktop shortcut. I don't know the specifics for that distribution and therefore I would only then google and offer a link. Probably better that you do that on your own so you can pick from the search results which one works best for you.
