launch totem movie player on start up

I am trying to figure out a way to make Totem movie player launch on start up with a pre-configured play list. Basically i need it to open as soon as ubuntu logs in. I have already set ubuntu log me in at start up. I have set the playlist as a sart-up app by going to system>prefrences>sessions. It just does not come up though. Not sure what other steps to take. I will also need the player to open up in full screen mode if this is possible. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly do you have listed as the command in the sessions? If you try to execute the same command in a terminal does it work?

Another place that might work is to put the command in .xinitrc in your home directory.
