Definitely need more information for anyone to help with this. What distro are you using? What kind of wireless card/chipset is in your laptop? Are you getting errors connecting to networks or is the card not even recognized? Are there any errors displayed or in the logs? These are general questions, so if you need help with how to find the answers, people can definitely help with that as well, but without this information, no one will be able to provide you with any help.

If its a Dell, it's probably Broadcom.

You can confirm this by opening a terminal and running the lspci command and inspecting the output.

If that indeed turns out to be the case, there are lots of threads here at LQ about Linux and Broadcom. Searching LQ for "dell broadcom" should turn up your answer.
