First post, so sorry if its been asked elsewhere, I could not find the search box, but I will keep looking. New Linux user and fresh Mint installation on HP Pressario (10 years old 32bit) and no camera functionality seemingly available I would like to get Skype or similar to work.Any pointers gratefully received!
Why would a video program be called cheese? Go figure
Solved
If you really want to know, it's because when taking photos, photographers used to say to their subjects, "say 'cheese'" because the pronunciation of the 'ee' sound forced them to smile. Nowadays people don't smile as much in photos: it's cooler to look serious, indifferent, dour or, especially if you're a girl, pout. It's a change that's been influenced by advances in technoculture.
