Suggest me a laptop which is compatible with scientific Linux and window vista OS

Scientific Linux will probably run on all of the laptops described above.

I believe that Scientific Linux strives to be binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, so you could use that distro to check about compatibility.

I wonder if it might be useful to consider a Macintosh Powerbook ... the idea being that you could run the other systems as guests under, say, BootCamp?

(I mean that... "wiser heads than mine, (fanboys need not apply...) what do you think?" And... why?)

P.S. within the confines of my "circuit cellar," I'm looking at one-or-more of 'everything'... Mac, PC, Linux. All in use daily. So... like I said, "no fanboys." Is this a viable|useful suggestion? Why or why not? My thought is that maybe it would be very-handy for this person to be able to run "either or both," at-will or even simultaneously, under the auspices of a third... the Intel-CPU hardware of-course doing all the heavy lifting of maintaining the virtual-machine environments.
