LAN Hosts unable to connect to Apache 2.0.40-21.11
Thanks for any help offered...
This situation was recently brought to my attention and i have to admit to being womewhat stumped as a "newbie" Running Redhat 9.0 with Apache 2.0.40-21.11 with full connectivity from the public side. Additionally, all other services that *need* to be accessed from internal and external networks are up and running. Problem is that none of the hosts on the private LAN can load the Apache websites... any thoughts??? Have perused the httpd logs and found no indication of what the issue might be. Thanks! |
do you have multiple NICs?
are they trying the internal IP address of the server or the domain name? |
single homed behind PIX 506e connection by FQDN
|
ok so the internal clients need to either use the internal IP of the server, or if you have a DNS server internal you need to create an A record that says www.yourdomain = 192.168.X.X
|
Will give that a go, thank you. Have a caching only bind running... should be a snap to set up a local domain for them.
|
also if they have windoze clients and you have samba running with a netbios name set then they can connect to the server with just putting that netbios name in the web browser address
