Question Lan Browsing

I installed Mandrake 9.1 and everything actually works fine. I have no problems. I would however like to see my other PCs on my home network. How do I go about doing that? I saw somewhere that the lisa daemon needed to be installed? How do I install that?

Sorry, but im Linux ignorant at the time being, but I learn fast..

Do you mean Windows machines sharing files? Install LinNeighborhood (it's somewhere on your installation cds).

I have LinNeighborhood installed, but I cannot get it to browse my Windows XP box. I have tried connecting by name and by IP with no luck.

How exactly does it need to be configured? And more importantly why do I not have permission to edit the smb.conf file?

Never mind I figured it out finally, you were right it was a samba config. Now I just need to figure out how to make WINE work...
