I can't help.

When I went from RH8 to RH9, I did have to comment out the boot line for the first time, so there is a difference. But what I want to know is what is hde? All I knew about was hda=primary master, hdb=primary slave, hdc=secondary master, hdd=secondary slave.

you can use "tune2fs -l" to relabel or unlabel a drive.

Wasn't that dumb? After I hit post I realized there were SCSI and USB drives not to mention the possibility of relabelling. But I didn't know how. Now I do. Thanks.
