Kword can not change font size on text file

I have a text file with font size 10 that I need to change
to font size 16 or more so someone with lesser eye sight can
read. I tried to get Kword to alter the file but it does nothing.
Is there some instructions somewhere that tell me how to deal
with this problem or can some one tell me how its done ?
I do not care what format, or software I have to use, just
as long as I can get font size of 16 or larger and print
the file out for my aging-eyed friend to read.

I am a KDE fan, but I find their office suite absolutely useless. :)
What format is the file? Have you tried OpenOffice/LibreOffice? That should definately work.
Also, if your friend is going to read the file on a computer, he/she could just use zoom function in the word processor.

Kword can not change font size on text file

I have to print this file out and deliver it. No, I do not have
a laptop etc.
I'm surprised that this simple task is so difficult in 2012.

honestly, i WAY prefer kwrite for nearly everything text based, kword seems like it's prettied up, but ultimately unusable. i have kword, but don't use it, i also have kate, which seems to make kword look horrific.

Install Libre Office. Right-click the file from within a file manager and choose open with Libre Office Writer. From the Edit menu within Libre Office Writer choose "Select all." Then select the font size you want.
