i am trying to rip DVD's to .AVI files using K9copy but it keeps crashing when i try to use the wizzard. I have tried launching from the konsole and recieve the following:

can any one make sense of what exactly is going wrong with this program? I really dont understand what any of these are saying, also if you would for example quote what told you what was an indicator of what may be wrong so i know what kinds of things to look for or explain it for me so I can begin understanding this a little bit that would be greatly appreciated

I know of no easy peasy way to do it. You might look at MEncoder, transcode, etc.
But, given a bug report, the sensible thing to do is to send it to the developers. That, after all, is why it is provided, and -- even if they can't help you -- you'll be helping improve the product.
