kppp dialer woes
 

Hello to all from a noobie,

I am having heaps of trouble with KPPP in Mandrake 9.
Dialling up and connecting is OK, but I am unable to ping anything.
No data flows in or out.

So far my only solution has been to reinstall the OS.
Recreating the dial up connection has not solved this problem.

Last night I reinstalled and established a connection OK and successfully received mail/loaded a web page. Then without making any configuration changes restarted the PC and dialed up again.
Cant ping, cant receive data........etc.

I am getting mighty sick of reinstalling Mandrake (about 10 times now!)and would like to know if anybody has had a similar experience or maybe even a fix for this pesky problem.

I'll give 'ya some good news... Unlike windows its not necessary to have to reinstall the OS for every little problem. How are you configuring kppp? Dynamic IP (most ISP's do this)? Dynamic DNS (many ISP's don't do this ...Yet)?
