kpilot configure 'makekdewidgets'

I run into the following error message when trying to configure kpilot.

checking for makekdewidgets... not found
configure: error: The important program makekdewidgets was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

I have done many searches on the google and cannot find any resources for this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
