KPackage in SUSE Linux giving errors
 

Hi, sorry to bother again, I am trying to get packages from debian repo's using KPackage. It picks up the packages on the left side of the window, but when I select it for installation, I get the following error message:

I was wondering what this meant and how I could rectify this. I am using SuSE 10. Much appreciated,

i don't think using deb packages on suse usually works.. mabye thats why it is balking.

or it is really the sig problem, where i suppose you need to uncheck the switch that is asking for verification of sigs... but i'm not sure where you do this in kpackage.

however make sure you reallly want to do what you are asking (forcing) the installer to do... because again, unless you are compiling or KNOW that the packages are compatible with suse.. you are going to trash all/part of your sys.

I agree that it would be best to stick to using YaST and SUSE repositories. If you cannot find what you want using the existing repositories currently connected to your system, you might also consider trying other larger SUSE repositories like packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/10.0/.

Great thanks for the suggestions. I wanted to get Bibus running from the Debian packages. I guess I will fiddle later.
