Konqueror on GNOME?


good day to all.
can i install konqueror on my GNOME?
if does can u tell me how to install and configure it?

the short answer: yes.

the long answer: you basically have to have the kdebase package installed to run konqueror, i don't think there is just a "konqueror" package. use whatever package manager you happen to have to install kdebase from a cd or from the kdebase file that you can download off of the kde website. once it's installed, just run "konqueror" from a terminal window or create a shortcut in gnome with "konqueror" as the command.

btw, what's wrong with gnome's file manager and web browser?

gnome file manager was great, its automatically detected my other computer networks. on the other hand when im going to open a desired computer i can't successfully open it.
but in konqueror i can use this "smb:// //computer_name/folder_name/"

thought i can use smbfs in console, i want also to use the gui smb by konqueror..

hope u could help me..

wait, so do you already have konqueror installed for kde on your machine? just run "konqueror" at a terminal window in gnome and that's it.

if you don't already have it installed try out what i recommended above.

iL do installing konqueror now inside kde package using 'pkgtool'.
