Unhappy Kodak EasyShare installation

I am having issues installing the appropriate programs for using my Kodak EasyShare camera. I was successful with the gphoto2 installation but that is as far as I can get on my own. Is there anyone who can help me out with step by step instructions?

You can get a card reader to transfer your picture(s) or video(s).
I would get a card reader because it would be better than to try and find software, but, saying that you can try out Darktable:
http://www.darktable.org/install/
So far it has been tested out on:
Ubuntu [Karmic, Lucid, Maverick, Natty, Oneiric], Arch Linux, Funtoo, Gentoo, Fedora, Macintosh OS X with Macports.
So, go and download it (link above) and take it for a test drive.

Post back if you need any more assistance.

There are lots of models that fall under EasyShare. To see if you model is supported look at the link below. Even if it isn't listed I would try and see.

http://www.gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php

gphoto2 is the command line interface and you can read the manual from the link below. In addition to darktable there is f-spot which also might suit your needs.
