Knoppix v7.7

I have recently started experimenting with Knoppix v7.7 and I find it very impressive. I would love to be able to install youtube-dl. Has anyone out there already done this and how did you proceed?

Knoppix v7.7 runs entirely off a USB stick and holds your particulars from one session to the next.

Well, my initial thought is since Knoppix is a "live" Linux instance, the usb or CD you are booting from is static and software can't be installed on it. I may be wrong, and it would probably be a good idea to check their forums: http://knoppix.net/forum/ to see if this is possible.

The newer Knoppix is Klaus Knopper approved to use as an installed version. Should be still debian based so you'd use
